Dedicated to the memory of Ken Gatenby

Sadly, on 4th July 2022 Ken Gatenby passed away from cancer just three weeks after being diagnosed. It’s left a hole in our world that can never be filled. He brought us all so much joy, laughter, happiness and immeasurable love. In the days since his passing we’ve received so many messages from people telling us how much he meant to them, little things he’d done for them, how much he’d made them smile. We’re going to miss his hugs, his laugh, his loud voice, his dancing, his singing, his smile, his kindness and his love.

In his last few weeks, the district nurses and team at East Cheshire Hospice were amazing at looking after him. They enabled him to have his wish of staying at home until the end, helping him with the pain and the gradual loss of ability to do things for himself. They enabled him to die peacefully and with dignity in his own bed surrounded by his close family, and they were there no matter what time of day to make his last days comfortable and peaceful. We can never thank them enough for their help, but in Ken’s memory we’ve set up this page to raise money to support this wonderful charity.

If you can, please take the time to donate using the 'make a donation' link, and we would love it if you could leave a short message or add any of your photos or memories of Ken to this page. Thank you.

We love you forever Ken, Dad, Grandad xxxxx
